Hi friends! Happy Day 9 of World Watercolor Month! I hope yesterday's mosaic pattern brought you new lessons and a deeper joy for painting. Today we are pulling inspiration from artist Lou Davis once again for a simple, but stunning repeating petal pattern. Repetition is the number one way to improve your technique, so embrace the meditative nature of this design and allow yourself to find flow.

We are using a compound stroke for this pattern. Start with light pressure, then increase pressure, slightly drag your brush, and lift in one fluid motion. Your mark-making practice should come in handy today! Refer to the videos below for visual guidance.
