World Watercolor Month - Day 12 - Non-Dominant Hand Challenge

Updated: 4 days ago

Happy Day 12 of World Watercolor Month, friends! I hope yesterday's challenge felt less like a stressful test and more like a fun game. Today, I have a new challenge for ya! Let's try painting with your non-dominant hand. Prepare for your painting to be ugly. It's okay. It's not a waste of paper. It is a fun lesson to loosen you up and encourage you to embrace imperfection.

You can pick a new subject or use the same one as yesterday. Simply try painting the subject with your opposite hand and take the lessons as they come. If you really want to challenge yourself, you can split your paper into three sections again and do the timed challenge with your non-dominant hand.

There is no Pinterest board for inspiration today. Simply pick a three dimensional object near you (it can be the same one as yesterday) and challenge yourself to paint it with your non-dominant hand. Want to up the pressure? Try painting it with three different time limits, like yesterday!

Journal Prompts:

What might happen if I loosened my grip?

How do I respond when something doesn't come easily to me?

Mantra:

I am brave enough to try.

I can laugh while I learn.
