Welcome to Week 2 of World Watercolor Month 2026, friends! I hope yesterday's mountain range taught you how to adjust value and build layers without overworking your paper. Today, we are back to playing with color and funky shapes. Gotta keep you on your toes! Fill your page today with a mosaic pattern of unique shapes and colors.
Check out the examples & video references below, along with today's journal prompts and mantras. Shout out to Lou Davis for providing today's inspo!
Start with one shape or a line of repeating shapes, then follow the contours of that shape with a new unique shape or set of shapes and repeat until your page is full. Be sure to mix up your colors and values, as you play. Extremely simple shapes can make up beautifully complex final pieces. There is lots of inspiration on today's Pinterest board!
Journal Prompt:
What part of myself am I still discovering?
What parts of myself feel out of place?
Mantra:
Every piece of me belongs.
I am whole as I am.
