Happy Day 4 of World Watercolor Month, y'all! I hope yesterday's color bleed blobs allowed you to experiment in ways you wouldn't have otherwise and that you feel more familiar with your color palette and how the pigments interact with each other.
Today, we are getting a little more illustrative with a bookshelf primarily made up of simple lines. Feel free to make this as simple or as intricate as you desire. Check out examples & video references below, as well as today's journal questions and mantras!
You can download the pdf preview of all 31 days here ⤵️
Using a flat brush or the side of a round brush, paint a few horizontal lines spaced apart to create your shelves. Then, varying heights, widths, and colors, paint in your book spines with vertical lines between your shelves. From there, you can add as much or as little detail as you'd like. You could add titles and textures. You could sneak in a plant or even a napping kitty cat on your shelves. Use this book nook to tell a story!
Journal Prompt:
How would you define the chapter of life you are in?
What happens next?
Mantra:
My story matters.
Every chapter has a purpose.
