Welcome to Day 30 of World Watercolor Month, artists! Yesterday's full moon piece was quite the moody vibe with deep tones and rich layers. Today we are lightening things up a bit with a blooming book design that I absolutely adore and teach in classes often! This weekend (July 31-August 1, 2026) is the Kansas City Bookstore Crawl, so I thought it was fitting to embrace a bookish theme.

Use a drawing pencil to sketch your open book. Then paint in a fan of blooming flowers and greenery coming from the open pages. Paint in the cover and the pages. Use the video below as your primary reference. Miss Sarah with Let's Make Art Matter will walk you through every step.
